A safe working environment is essential for the well-being of employees and the success of any business. Workplace hazards can lead to accidents, injuries, and legal consequences, but with the right knowledge, most risks can be prevented. Employers have a legal duty to implement health and safety measures, and employees play a crucial role in maintaining a safe workplace.
This Health and Safety in the Workplace course is designed to provide essential knowledge at three levels—Level 1 for basic awareness, Level 2 for a more in-depth understanding, and Level 3 for those in supervisory or management roles. It covers key principles of workplace safety, risk assessment, and legal responsibilities, helping to create a safer and more compliant working environment.

Manual handling is a common part of daily tasks, involving activities like lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. When combined with movements such as twisting, pivoting, or climbing, these actions can increase the risk of injury. Every year, improper manual handling leads to significant workplace injuries, resulting in over a million lost working days—not to mention the physical pain and discomfort suffered by those affected. Learning and applying the correct techniques can greatly reduce these risks.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has long recognised the dangers associated with manual handling, implementing regulations and guidance to encourage best practices and safer working environments.
Employers are legally required to provide employees with health and safety training, including specific guidance on manual handling risks and injury prevention.
Our manual handling training course is designed to help individuals develop safer and more efficient handling techniques. Not only does it align with HSE recommendations, but it also promotes good practices that can be applied in any workplace setting.
This course is available to all, with no prior training required. The training can be delivered both at your workplace, or at an offsite location.
Practical assessment is on-going by the instructor, culminating with a written test.
This qualification does not expire, but refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to policies and procedures is vital to keep the qualification current.
